CAT HOSTICK is a Canadian female Director, Writer and Producer. She is one of the youngest professional female Directors on the rise in Canada.
Cat has an extensive background in the arts, dedicating her life to it. She studied art abroad for 4 years in her youth, and was a working artist; as well, she trained as an actress for over 10 years before she began directing and producing.
Alongside acting, her career in Film began when she worked for one year in integrated marketing at Walt Disney Studios Canada while attending The University of Toronto. While she enjoyed Disney, she knew her talents were in the creative side of film.
Cat is a member in good standing of ACTRA, Women in Film & Television, CMPA, and the Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC).

Director Cat Hostick is finishing up principal photography on a new feature film called
The Meaning of Life (2016) starring Canadian Pop Singer and Sony artist: Tyler Shaw. Also starring Flashpoint's Sergio Di Zio, Sadie Munroe, Dan Lett, Krista Morin, Jean Yoon and more. Cat wrote, directed and produced the movie. Cat will be going into production on another feature film called Dreamweaver Incorperated (2017) this fall which she wrote, and will be producing and directing.
Synopsis :A talented, starving musician gets a job as a therapeutic clown at a hospital for sick kids. He is assigned a 9 year-old girl with Leukaemia. They both explore and search for the meaning of life in their weekly Wednesday meetings together.

From concept to execution-- Cat has worked with many artists of a variety of genres. What makes Cat interesting as a director is that she is a trained actor and knows how to work with individuals with little to no acting experience and get the best performances out of them and is able to make them feel comfortable on camera under time sensitive situations. (Many musicians are new to the camera). Cat continually gets positive feedback for his skill with this when it comes to music videos and longer format projects.
